Bumble is looking for a User Researcher to join our Community Experience Team in Austin, Texas. The User Researcher will work closely with our marketing strategists, designers, product team, and data analysts to deliver insights and actionable steps to shape and understand the Bumble customer experience to inform marketing plans and product roadmap.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Community Experience, the User Researcher will conduct studies to explore new opportunities, validate customer feedback, test concepts, and lead evaluative research about our current user experience. You’ll use your understanding of various research methodologies to develop a best-in-class process for user research across the company. Utilize community feedback and work closely alongside the Marketing, Strategy, and Product teams to identify research opportunities
Conduct a variety of research studies from 1:1 interviews and focus groups to large-scale surveys
Market research including understanding attitudinal, demographic, and psychographic segmentation
Conducting aided and unaided brand awareness studies
Synthesize and share cultural trends cross-functionally based on both existing user base and target markets
User based and target market based persona development
Provide direction to market leads on commissioned and inbound research driving marketing and comms strategy
Synthesize and communicate research findings to stakeholders through storytelling, presentations, reports, and high level, easy to understand insights
Act as the voice of the customer along the consumer journey and identify pain points, solutions, and opportunities to innovate
Champion our users with empathy and a deep connection to our mission
2+ years in-depth experience in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive science OR comparable user and market research experience
Deep understanding of research methods, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research
Understanding of user-centered design principles and UX best practices
Strong ability to work independently and take ownership and initiative
Comfortable working collaboratively with teams in multiple time zones
Experience with online survey platforms, such as SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics
Track record of working with cross-functional teams and influencing key product and marketing decisions with research findings
